Dr. Laura Mackey
Dr. Mackey grew up in Fayetteville, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia for undergrad and then attended the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete a small animal emergency and critical care internship at the Veterinary Emergency Center in Richmond, Virginia. After completion of her internship, she moved back to Georgia to practice emergency and critical care medicine at Cobb Emergency Veterinary Center in Marietta, Georgia. She spent 4 years there before she began doing relief for New Hope Animal Hospital in March of 2017. She then realized the possibilities of having a normal schedule and became full time veterinarian at New Hope in October 2017. Her interest is in emergency and critical care, soft tissue surgery, and wound management.
Dr. Mackey currently lives in Smyrna, Georgia with her finance, Greg. She loves the beach, traveling, working out, and spending time with friends. She has two dogs, Kona and Guinness, and three cats, Dusty, Hennessy, and Julep.
